Flamingo for Palm handheld computers

1.0 Downloading and Installing the Flamingo files

Clicking the link below will download and install the Flamingo files, including the NSBasic ® runtime files. The software runs on all Palm devices from OS3.5 to OS6(Cobalt). Flamingo can be installed into the main memory or onto an expansion card.

Depending on the computer/device you are using, one of the following actions will occur:

  • For Palm devices, the installation package will be downloaded and installed to the device 'over-the-air'.

  • For Windows computers, the installation package Flamingo.exe will be downloaded and the Flamingo files will be unpacked into the Hotsync directory. Flamingo will be installed when Hotsync is next run. Palm Desktop ® needs to be installed on the PC.

  • For Mac computers, the installation package Flamingo-Installer.prc will be downloaded into the Hotsync directory. The Flamingo installer will be copied to the Palm device when Hotsync is next run and should be executed on the device to unpack and install the files. Palm Desktop ® needs to be installed on the PC.

If you wish to download Flamingo to install at a later time, or if you wish to download and retain Flamingo in a particular folder on your PC or on your device, click one of the links below. The Windows PC file Flamingo-Installer.exe or Mac PC/Palm file Flamingo-Installer.prc can be executed at any time to install the files ready for the next HotSync operation.

    2.0 Downloading Flamingo help files

Flamingo help files can be downloaded in HtmlHelp (chm) format to run on a Windows PC, or Acrobat (pdf) format.

    3.0 Uninstalling Flamingo

To remove Flamingo from the Palm device, click Home, click Delete. Select Flamingo and click Delete. This will also remove the Flamingo files from the Hotsync list.

If no other software requiring the NSB runtime files is installed on the device, Mathlib, NSBRuntime, NSBStringLib, NSBResize and NSBSystemLib, can also be deleted.
