1.0 Downloading and Installing Flamingo - Palm WebOS smartphones

Clicking the link below will download the Flamingo installation file Flamingo-Installer.prc.

  • Connect the Palm WebOS smartphone to the PC; copy Flamingo-Installer.prc into the ClassicApps/PALM/Launcher/Install/ folder on the PC. Disconnect the smartphone and start Classic; execute Flamingo-Installer.prc on the smartphone to install Flamingo.
  • 2.0 Downloading and Installing Flamingo - Palm 'Classic' PDAs

    Clicking the link below will download and install the Flamingo files. The software runs on all Palm PDAs from OS3.5 to OS5. Flamingo can be installed into the main memory or onto an expansion card.

    Depending on the computer or PDA you are using, one of the following actions will occur:

  • For Palm PDAs, the installation package will be downloaded and installed to the PDA 'over-the-air'.
  • For Windows computers, the installation package Flamingo.exe will be downloaded and Flamingo will be unpacked into the Hotsync directory. Flamingo will be installed on the PDA when Hotsync is next run. Palm Desktop ® needs to be installed on the PC.
  • For Mac computers, the installation package Flamingo-Installer.prc will be downloaded into the Hotsync directory. The Flamingo installer will be copied to the Palm PDA when Hotsync is next run and should be executed on the PDA to unpack and install Flamingo. Palm Desktop ® needs to be installed on the PC.
  • If you wish to download Flamingo to install at a later time, or if you wish to download and retain Flamingo in a particular folder on your PC or on your PDA, click one of the links below. The Windows PC file Flamingo-Installer.exe or Mac PC/Palm file Flamingo-Installer.prc can be executed at any time to install the files ready for the next HotSync operation.

    3.0 Downloading help for Flamingo

    The Flamingo help file can be downloaded in Acrobat (pdf) format.

    4.0 Uninstalling Flamingo

    To remove Flamingo from the Palm device, click Home, click Delete. Select Flamingo and click Delete. This will also remove Flamingo from the Hotsync list.

    If no other software requiring the NSB runtime files is installed on the device, Mathlib, NSBRuntime, NSBStringLib, NSBResize and NSBSystemLib, can also be deleted.
