1.0 Downloading and Installing Fanfare - Palm WebOS smartphones

Clicking the link below will download the Fanfare installation file Fanfare-Installer.prc.

  • Connect the Palm WebOS smartphone to the PC; copy Fanfare-Installer.prc into the ClassicApps/PALM/Launcher/Install/ folder on the PC. Disconnect the smartphone and start Classic; execute Fanfare-Installer.prc on the smartphone to install Fanfare.

    • 2.0 Downloading and Installing Fanfare - Palm 'Classic' PDAs

    Clicking the link below will download and install the Fanfare files. The software runs on all Palm PDAs from OS3.5 to OS5. Fanfare can be installed into the main memory or onto an expansion card.

    Depending on the computer or PDA you are using, one of the following actions will occur:

  • For Palm PDAs, the installation package will be downloaded and installed to the PDA 'over-the-air'.

  • For Windows computers, the installation package Fanfare.exe will be downloaded and Fanfare will be unpacked into the Hotsync directory. Fanfare will be installed on the PDA when Hotsync is next run. Palm Desktop ® needs to be installed on the PC.

  • For Mac computers, the installation package Fanfare-Installer.prc will be downloaded into the Hotsync directory. The Fanfare installer will be copied to the Palm PDA when Hotsync is next run and should be executed on the PDA to unpack and install Fanfare. Palm Desktop ® needs to be installed on the PC.

    If you wish to download Fanfare to install at a later time, or if you wish to download and retain Fanfare in a particular folder on your PC or on your PDA, click one of the links below. The Windows PC file Fanfare-Installer.exe or Mac PC/Palm file Fanfare-Installer.prc can be executed at any time to install the files ready for the next HotSync operation.

    3.0 Downloading help for Fanfare

    The Fanfare help file can be downloaded in Acrobat (pdf) format.

    4.0 Uninstalling Fanfare

    To remove Fanfare from the Palm device, click Home, click Delete. Select Fanfare and click Delete. This will also remove Fanfare from the Hotsync list.

    If no other software requiring the NSB runtime files is installed on the device, Mathlib, NSBRuntime, NSBStringLib, NSBResize and NSBSystemLib, can also be deleted.
