Vertigo for Windows PC computers

1.0 Downloading the Vertigo files

The Vertigo file to be downloaded consists of a single executable file named Install_Vertigo.EXE (0.7 MB).

Vertigo uses the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2 and if the framework is not already installed on the PC, the framework files should be downloaded and installed prior to installing Vertigo.

2.0 Downloading Vertigo help files

Online help is included with the Vertigo installation file. The help file can also be downloaded in Acrobat (pdf) format.

3.0 Installing the Vertigo files

If the .NET Framework files are not installed on the PC, execute the file DotNetFX.exe to launch the Microsoft installation program.

Execute the file Install_Vertigo.exe to launch the Silverglance installation program.

Vertigo may be installed on any drive, but should always be in the default folder Program Files/Silverglance/Vertigo.

4.0 Troubleshooting the Vertigo installation

Symptom: When launching Vertigo, an 'Application Failed to Initialse Properly' message is displayed.
Action: Install the .NET Framework files and run Vertigo.

Symptom: .NET Framework files fail to install.
Action: Ensure that Internet Explorer 5.01 or greater is installed. Windows NT users need to have Service Pack 6a or greater installed. Antivirus programs and firewall programs such as ZoneAlarm should be temporarily shut down while the framework files are installed. It is also advisable to shut down all other running programs.

5.0 Uninstalling Vertigo

It is recommended that the following procedure be used: click Start, click Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs. Select Vertigo and click Add/Remove.
