Upsilon for Windows PC computers

1.0 Downloading the Upsilon files

The Upsilon file to be downloaded consists of a single executable file named Install_Upsilon.EXE (0.5 MB).

Upsilon uses the Microsoft .NET Framework and if the framework is not already installed on the PC, the framework files should be downloaded and installed prior to installing Upsilon.

2.0 Installing the Upsilon files

If the .NET Framework files are not installed on the PC, execute the file DotNetFX.exe to launch the Microsoft installation program.

Execute the file Install_Upsilon.exe to launch the Silverglance installation program.

Upsilon may be installed on any drive, but should always be in the default folder Program Files/Silverglance/Upsilon.

3.0 Troubleshooting the Upsilon installation

Symptom: When launching Upsilon, an 'Application Failed to Initialse Properly' message is displayed.
Action: Install the .NET Framework files and run Upsilon.

Symptom: .NET Framework files fail to install.
Action: Ensure that Internet Explorer 5.01 or greater is installed. Windows NT users need to have Service Pack 6a or greater installed. Antivirus programs and firewall programs such as ZoneAlarm should be temporarily shut down while the framework files are installed. It is also advisable to shut down all other running programs.

4.0 Uninstalling Upsilon

It is recommended that the following procedure be used: click Start, click Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs. Select Upsilon and click Add/Remove.
