Blowpipe for Windows PC computers

1.0 Downloading the Blowpipe files

The Blowpipe file to be downloaded consists of a single executable file named Install_Blowpipe.EXE (1.0 MB).

Blowpipe uses the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2 and if the framework is not already installed on the PC, the framework files should be downloaded and installed prior to installing Blowpipe.

2.0 Downloading Blowpipe help files

Online help is included with the Blowpipe installation file. The help file can also be downloaded in Acrobat (pdf) format.

Data input sheets are available for download in Acrobat (pdf) format, A4 or Letter size.

3.0 Installing the Blowpipe files

If the .NET Framework files are not installed on the PC, execute the file DotNetFX.exe to launch the Microsoft installation program.

Execute the file Install_Blowpipe.exe to launch the Silverglance installation program.

Blowpipe may be installed on any drive, but should always be in the default folder Program Files/Silverglance/Blowpipe.

4.0 Troubleshooting the Blowpipe installation

Symptom: When launching Blowpipe, an 'Application Failed to Initialse Properly' message is displayed.
Action: Install the .NET Framework files and run Blowpipe.

Symptom: .NET Framework files fail to install.
Action: Ensure that Internet Explorer 5.01 or greater is installed. Windows NT users need to have Service Pack 6a or greater installed. Antivirus programs and firewall programs such as ZoneAlarm should be temporarily shut down while the framework files are installed. It is also advisable to shut down all other running programs.

5.0 Uninstalling Blowpipe

It is recommended that the following procedure be used: click Start, click Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs. Select Blowpipe and click Add/Remove.
